🎄3 Reasons to Start Microdosing Psilocybin for The Holidays 🥳

We are all looking for the same things - Success + Joy. Some of us might throw money and love to the mix, FMP they are intrinsic to Success and Joy.

🍄 Bringing more Joy and Success for 2023 🎉

Why do they seem so elusive, though? Especially when combined. For the longest time, I have had this perspective that I had to trade off success for joy and vice-versa. One month in my first job, 20 years ago, the excitement of being employed and earning my own keep had already worn off on the altar of monotony, pressure to perform and team’s dysfunction. Since then, the gospel I have been hearing when asking if work and life were supposed to be that dull has always been that “you can’t have it all”, “be happy to have a job” and “it comes with the territory”.

But I could not resign myself to live a life of quiet desperation.

I thought that the proverbial grass would be greener elsewhere and changed jobs, industries, career, country, city in search of Success and Joy, preferably concurrently. I had it at some point, in Montreal, when I was working for CGI. And then a change in the careful balance inside and outside work brought me back to the salt mines, drained of my energy and appetite for life. I was back waking up every day dreading for what was to come down, until I did what I do best, pack up and leave, hopeful for better pastures.

But this sense of powerlessness at combining Success + Joy pursued me everywhere I went, no matter the changes. Being French, I thought I was for sure at a disadvantage, engrained with the idea that joy is for dumb people who don’t know better, and brainwashed that striving for success and money is very Nouveau Riche (it is not so much that money is bad, more that “good money” is family money, not money earned). However, over the years I realized that, French or not, I was far from alone at going through my life and career without any excitement, nor zest for life.

And then I started Microdosing Psilocybin 😎

Last Spring, desperately hungry for a change, I decided to take extreme measures and started microdosing psilocybin. You can find more details in my previous edition “😃 Microdosing Psychedelics for Work, Relationships, and Happiness”

I received many questions on my regimen, the products and the retailers. In a nutshell:

  • My favorite mushroom is the Golden Teacher (as chocolate edible). I also take my Golden Teacher, under other forms, such as gummies. I tried other mushrooms, but always go back to the GT. Follow the links to the website if you want to explore your options.

  • Now, my regimen changes all the time based on my mood, activities and experiments I am running. A small dose of Golden Teacher (0.25g or 1/2 square) every over day is a good place for most to start.

  • Having an intention of why you are microdosing is important to focus the mind, this will act as a GPS for your brain. I am microdosing thinking about what I want more in life and what it would look like.

Microdosing is NOT taking one small dose at some point and then expecting immediate and long-term results. The frequency, the dosage and your intention are key to success. None would take mindlessly one tablet of Vitamin C and expect to see an instantaneous boost of energy lasting 3 months.

Inspired by my great results some readers started their own microdosing experiments. I want to share one testimonial that is right on the money (Thank You J. for sharing your feedback 🙏).

“I didn't notice much at first but in the past couple of weeks I caught myself laughing really hard at something one of my daughters had said and I realized that it had been a long time since I'd had a good belly laugh :)”

Thank you for reading my newsletter 😊 This post is public so feel free to share it.

Why is it a Great Time for You to start Microdosing Psilocybin? 🍄

If you are not yet convinced that starting microdosing psilocybin during The Holidays is a great experience for you to try, here are 3 reasons you should reconsider.

1) You are likely on a break 🎄

Most of us have a break from work and our regular schedule during The Holidays. It is the perfect time to try something different without the interference of work.

In addition this time of the year stands for two main things:

  • For most of us, who have to run around buying gifts, preparing diners, hosting, travelling, meeting relatives, this turns out to be a very stressful and triggering time. Yes, the Holiday season which technically should be a happy time tends to turn in to an exhausting marathon that is very unkind to our mental and physical health. The over-eating, drinking, smoking, spending, also set us up for a massive hangover for the new year to come.

  • We have all heard and read the studies explaining that people with goals are more likely to be successful than people without goals. I believe that it is not so much the goal-setting that makes one successful but the fact that this person has removed the auto-pilot, gave their GPS a new direction, and has been trying something different. If you want to get different results you need to do something different. Check out “How to get unstuck” for more insights. And setting the same goals than we set every year (more money, a promotion, less alcohol, losing weight, exercising more…) without changing anything about our mindset will yield the same results, aka none. If you want to read more on how to ditch the traditional goal setting for something more expansive, go over “New Year, New You”.

2) You want more Success 🚀

Yes, we all want more success, this is human nature to want more and this is a good thing; it pushes us to go out of our comfort zone and to grow.

However, very often we see more success as a trade-off to more work, and less time for ourselves and our loved ones…the “No Gain, No Pain” mindset.

The beauty of microdosing psilocybin is that not only the days seem very loong (because microdosers are more present), but the level of focus and performance is also greatly improved.

As I mentioned previously I wrote the first draft of my memoir “Paris, Mushrooms, and Me” in 10 days. I had always wanted to write a book but never found it in me to do it. Here, I just sat at my computer every day and wrote a chapter a day. Just like that. This book (think “Bridget Jones meets Eat, Pray, Love with a microdosing twist”) recounts the personal transformation I have experienced during my first 6 weeks of microdosing psilocybin. 3) You want more Joy 😊

The beauty of microdosing psilocybin is the edge it takes off of our nervous systems. It does really bring a pink buffer to our thoughts, actions and words.

We become less reactive to our environment for multiple reasons and in different ways, which brings us more joy:

  • The time slowing down gives us the time to stop and decide how we want to respond, as opposed to jumping right away with our habitual (negative) reactions. We can now really think about what would the “best version of ourselves” act in these circumstances and chose to act accordingly;

  • The higher awareness we experience helps us get off the auto-pilot and understand why we do what we do, say what we say, and feel what we feel. It gives us the opportunity to unplug these negative patterns that have been acquired over time and that are likely not for our greatest good.

  • Our uplifted mood and more positive outlook support us in seeing what is working well and focus on the positive. By looking at the glass half-full, we uncover more opportunities for joy and also more options in our life. Dissipating the dark cloud over our head (or at least part of it) helps us in un-stucking ourselves, but also in perceiving the beauty in our current situation.

  • We discover more compassion for ourselves and others, but also more clarity in who we are and what we want. We feel more comfortable sticking to our guns, and standing up for ourselves, not from a place of reactions and conditioning but from a place of values, our own values aligned with our Authentic Self.

Freeing ourselves from past conditioning, fears, patterns have a lot to do with experiencing more Joy in our lives. You just have to look at young kids who don’t know yet that they are supposed to do, think, feel, and say THIS (but NOT THAT). They experience life with joy and a zest that most of us would greatly benefit from.

I know it well; I have been on that bandwagon for quite some time now. 😊

My newfound (or re-found) ability to experience what is happening to me with curiosity, interest, gusto and optimism has truly upgraded (or upleveled!) my life and my experience of it.
