🧝‍♀️What It Means To Be Human With Cam Leids

Welcome back to "The Microdose Diet" newsletter, your trusted source for achieving success, passion, and happiness in life and career. 🍄

Today, I am thrilled to present you a fabulous guest, Cam Leids, the host and creator of the Trip Sitting podcast. Cam’s podcast focuses on exploring human consciousness and psychedelics, making it a must-listen for anyone interested in these topics.

Cam has a diverse background, having transitioned from the tech industry to the psychedelic space. Originally from LA and now based in Denver, Colorado, Cam is an entrepreneur, writer, and host who brings people together through open conversations about psychedelics and personal growth.

🧭The Journey to TripSitting

Cam shared his journey of starting the TripSitting podcast in October 2022, after a life-changing ayahuasca experience in Peru. This profound experience at Dreamglade retreat center completely changed his perspective on life and inspired him to create a platform for deep conversations about psychedelics and the human experience.

Before launching the podcast, Cam had been using psychedelics recreationally for years. His journey included a significant five-gram mushroom trip that helped him recover his sense of taste and smell after long Covid. This experience highlighted the therapeutic potential of psychedelics and reinforced his desire to share his insights with others.

💡Insights from the TripSitting Podcast

Cam’s podcast features guests from diverse backgrounds, all exploring what it means to be human. He emphasizes the importance of acceptance—accepting oneself and the present moment without judgment. This acceptance is the foundation for true personal change.

Cam also discussed the mind-body connection, highlighting how psychedelics can lower ego barriers and calm the nervous system, enhancing this connection. His own deep journey with ayahuasca taught him what self-acceptance and self-love truly feel like, a feeling experienced deeply in the body.

🌿Conscious Retreats: Finding the Right Plant Medicine Journey

Cam founded Conscious Retreats to help clients find and book the perfect retreat center for their plant medicine journey. He highlighted the importance of preparation, honesty, and transparency when choosing a retreat center. Key advice includes avoiding centers that try to sell you on their services and seeking those that prioritize preparation and integration.

“MORE! The Microdose Diet, The 90 Day Plan for More Success, Passion, and Happiness” is now available on Audible 🎧

🧑‍🤝‍🧑The Future of the Psychedelic Industry

Cam shared his thoughts on the future of the psychedelic industry, emphasizing the need for a community-based approach to integration. He believes that while the healthcare system can provide a framework, true healing comes from community support and ongoing integration.

🍄Cam’s Personal Psychedelic Practice

Cam’s psychedelic practice is ever-evolving. He recently journeyed with ayahuasca and uses mushrooms recreationally to stay connected. He stresses the importance of preparation and integration for meaningful transformation.

😵 Top 3 Microdosing Mistakes You Might Be Doing

Welcome back to "The Microdose Diet" newsletter, your trusted source for achieving success, passion, and happiness in life and career. 🍄

I spent my weekend at The Open:Minds Expo speaking about “Microdosing for Personal Development” & “Microdosing for Success, Passion, and Happiness”, selling and signing my book “MORE! The Microdose Diet, The 90 Day Plan for More Success, Passion, and Happiness” and discussing all things microdosing with psychedelic-curious.

It was wonderful to meet so many IRL and understand first hand what was on people’s minds and what they were looking for. They had made the effort to forgo a weekend of relaxation while allocating capital to access the expo: who were they and why were they interested in The Microdose Diet?!

In VC/entrepreneurs linguo what I learnt was great market validation for my platform: it is clear that many amateur-microdosers need quite a bit of guidance to make the most of this wonderful practice (when handled mindfully & strategically!).

Here are 3 of the most common microdosing mistakes I witnessed this weekend and what you can do about it if you had been caught in the same trap!

😵‍💫You Are Taking Too Much!!

This is a trend I observed in the past and that was validated during the expo: Microdosers tend to take way too much!!

The recommendation in my book and online course is to stick with a dose of 100mg of psilocybin.

I heard more than once dosages from 200 to 400mg, it even went up to 600mg for one participant. That is WAY too high!

Some reported being distracted or feeling strong physical effects (no shit!), making them doubt the benefits associated with microdosing.

The challenge is not the microdosing practice, it is the dosage. More is not better. Microdosing works in the background, one should not feel anything when microdosing, this is the entire point of the practice: to work at sub-perception levels.

Microdosing properly will not disrupt your day, it will enhance your day.

Keep in mind that the combination with other substances (usually in capsules) can amplify greatly the physical sensations felt when microdosing. Lion’s Mane is an excellent example of this potential amplification. 100mg of psilocybin combined with more than 150mg of Lion’s Mane is likely to send you in la-la-land and disrupt your day.

Again, when microdosing less is more and you should NOT feel any physical sensations after ingesting your microdose.

📆You Don’t Have a Solid Regimen

This topic has been a focus of mine (as well as a frustration of mine ;)) since I launched The Microdose Diet: do you have a mindful and strategic regimen?

Microdosing is NOT about taking a microdose at random. You would not take a tablet of vitamin C on the first Monday of the month, then the following Friday, then 2 weeks later and expect to see any benefits, would you? It is the same for microdosing!

You need a regimen! And this is really not complicated. You have the choice between 3 schools of thoughts:

  • Microdose 1 day in, 2 days off (example: Monday microdose, nothing Tuesday and Wednesday and so);

  • Microdose 1 day in, 1 day off;

  • Microdose Monday to Friday.

I microdose 1 day in, 2 days off on an empty stomach in the morning. You can find all the info on microdosing regimen on this video.

In addition, to really make the most of your microdosing practice you want to have an intention (you can call it a goal or an objective if intention doesn’t resonate with you). By being intentional / purposeful, you will see way better results.

Keep in mind that psilocybin is great to rewire your brain. The question is: what do you want to rewire it with?🤔 You want to stay away from unconscious microdosing.

If you really want to make the most of your microdosing practice, check out The Microdose Diet (the book or online course) as following the protocol (aka the diet) will multiply the benefits of microdosing.

😮 You Use Low Quality Products

More than one participant reported buying their products on random websites; may I emphasis the fact that this is not a great idea?!

Whatever enters your body should be of the highest quality: food, beverages, supplements, medicines, and yes, psilocybin.

There are a tremendous amount of fake products sold on internet. Unless they are coming directly from the manufacturer, I don’t even buy supplements online for this very reason.

When it comes to the mushrooms dispensaries that have popped up across Canada the same diligence applies. Similarly to our food, the products are not necessarily of the same premium quality everywhere.

If the results of your microdosing practice are puzzling and that your dosage and regimen are sound, maybe it is time to question your products!

I launched the Brain Power Microdose in collaboration with a Canadian clinic to sell the best possible products. Could I sell cheaper products and make higher margins? Sure. Did I intend to launch a microdosing product? Absolutely not. It is one thing to talk and write about psychedelics, it is another thing altogether to actually sell psychedelics. But there was a need for my family, my friends and I, so I went into this area of the industry after much hesitation and trepidation. Today when asked what products should one microdose with I have a easy answer: The Brain Power Microdose!

I know that cheaper products exist online and in store. The same way chocolate from highly processed manufacturers is cheaper than organic sustainable fair trade chocolate.

The question for you comes down to self-worth and value: do you believe you are worth premium products and is your microdosing practice important enough to shell out a few dollars more?!

Now that you have a better view of the 3 most common microdosing mistakes you have the power to correct (if necessary) your own microdosing practice. And if you want to maximize the value and really master microdosing, follow The Microdose Diet protocol and see your practice yield tremendous results!

Wishing you a lot of Success, Passion, and Happiness!!
